comcast is going to charge you an extra $10 for the HD cable box?

i could be wrong but im almost positive they told me that it would be an extra $5 per box per month to upgrade to hd

ok this is gonna be a really dumb question

if you have a hdtv but no hdtv receiver...will it work at all...or will it work as a regular non hdtv would work

there are 2 types, as i understand it. there are TV's that are HD ready, you need a box for those, and there are TV's that have a HD tuner built in, for those you don't need a seperate box.

so, as i understand it, i may be wrong. if you already have digital cable, you have the HD channels, but your regular TV can't process them. if you buy a TV that has a HD tuner built in, i think it will proecess that signal from your regular digital box.

but don't quote me on that.

the tv if i get it is hdtv ready with the tuner built in...are you saying that means i dont even need an hdtv cable box

i think, but you really need to ask a professional about that. i could be dead wrong. but that is how i understand it.

i mean, the only pupose of the special HD box is to convert the signal, all you are doing then is sending the signal from the box to your TV via cables. so if your TV already has the means to convert the signal, why would you need the special box?
