as ive said from day one neither goalie is capable of carrying a team in the playoffs....this team is one round and done in the postseason

its just absolutely mind boggling how they could have gone 15 years without a legitimate stanley cup goaltender....its one of the great mysteries in all of sports

Couldn't agree with you more and I've brought that point up many times. I hate Clarke's philosophy of big slow defenseman and shabby goaltending. I figured after the rule changes he would have went with a speedier defense, but I guess I was wrong. This team is too slow to win anything. I say they're finished after the second round.

-- Gauthier suspended 2 games for checking a guy into the wall the other night

-- Despite practicing today, Primeau is still out

SunMo

people at the game were complaining, but that was just what happened to Umberger, so 2 games is only fair.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

i agree...but i want it more for the atmosphere it will create...there are few things better in sports than a ranger flyer playoff series

Flyers beat the Pens 4-3. Almost blew a 3-0 lead, a late goal by Carter saved the day.

Technically they did blow the lead, than Carter got it back with his goal.

Either way, Esche was rock solid that last two minutes of the game.

Potulny got his first career point, so that's pretty cool.

Also, I tend to agree with Hitchcock:

Quote"Goaltending is the least of our problems," Hitchcock said. "Right now, we have to have a killer instinct."

What he means by "have a killer instinct" is "actually play some farging defense once in a while".

SunMo

i love the fact that the Flyers get to play that punk Crosby 8 times a year.  It's a shame Gauthier wasn't playing last night, i'm sure Hitchcock would've had him on Crosby, and that would've been entertaining.

Especially when up by two in the 3rd period.  Holy Hannah, that was awful defense yesterday.

And they still take too many stinking penalties.  That will be death come playoff time.

Rome

I have a quick question about the Wachovia Center.

Do they sell standing room tickets there?  I noticed on the box score that last night's game was sold at 101.3% capacity.

Are they extras seats they haul in for big games?
