Trade proposition for a different FFL

Forget for a moment that I'm in 4 fantasy leagues, a suicide league, a salary cap league and a pick'em league and help me decide what to do in my keeper league with my friends...

My roster from last year is shtein. We only keep three players and the people that I'm considering are...

Tomlinson
Rudi Johnson
Westbrook
Chad Johnson
Mike Vick

Tomlinson is a lock and considering my options, R. Johnson is also probably a lock, but the rest of my choices are utter shtein.

I've been offered Kevin Jones and Donovan McNabb for Tomlinson.
I've also been offered a late first round pick for Rudi Johnson.

Basically I would be blowing up my team, leaving myself with one keeper (Westbrook or C. Johnson, almost certainly not Vick), McNabb, K. Jones and two late-ish first round picks (#7 & #10).

So either I go into the season with the best player in the league, and shtein else, or I go into the season with three good players and two first round picks. I hate to get rid of Tomlinson, but I like the idea of having more picks and decent players.

Thoughts?

I would:

1. Keep Tomlinson
2. Keep Westbrook
3. Keep Chad Johnson
4. Trade Rudi Johnson for the 1st round pick

You have your 2 starting RB's right there and a stud WR. With two #1's you could really build on that.

The only problem with that is that if I trade a player I have to also 'keep' that player. In other words, my keeper would become the second draft pick... you know what I mean?

how many teams in the league... how many players do you start?  big questions there.

Id keep LT, Rudi and Westbrook.  You are set at RB for the season.  You can always dig up a decent QB.

rjs246

10 teams, 9 starting positions (2 WR, 2 RB, QB, TE, K, DEF, W/R).

I like the idea of having two starting RBs (b/c I think K. Jones is money) and two draft picks. I also get bored easily and get excited about fantasy football trades... but you guys and your stupid logic are starting to sway me...

Along with Murp's questions, how many players can you keep?  Who will be available in the first round.  I wouldn't trade Rudi Johnson unless I was sure I could get a really good player.  Rudi is money this year.  Offense is really going to blossom with Carson Palmer and I think Rudi and Chad Johson will get many redzone opportunities.  If you can only keep four, I would get rid of Vick or see if you can trade him for a second rounder.  Do not trade Tomlinson.

Even worse, we can only keep three. I don't have a lot of wiggle room here...

I'm with MURP.  Keep LT, Rudi, and Westbrook.

Do you guys relaly think Westbrook is keeper-worthy?

It's a draw in my mind between Westrbook and Chad.  But I've convinced myself in the past that a stud WR was more valuable than a Very Good RB, only to get burned every time.  So maybe you keep Chad instead, and maybe you regret it.

And yeah, I'm talking Keeper Fantasy here, not Season Fantasy.

depends on your scoring.   Westy had the same # of TD's as CJ last year, but he had about 200 or so more yards.  Just depends.

I'd keep Tomlinson, Westbrook, and Chad Johnson, personally.  Rudi's going to lose carries to Chris Perry by the end of the season.

rjs246

I can't believe that all of you think that Westbrook is a keeper. And one of you has said that Westbrook should be kept over Rudi Johnson. Makes me wonder why the hell I'm asking any of you what you think in the first place.

Rudi is going to have a huge year. I have both LT and Johnson is my regular Fantasy League, and no way I'd move Westy into one of those slots unless they had a bye or something. I do agree with Dio overall though. WRs even ones like Chad Johnson, aren't worth as much as a very good RB. Keep Westy, Rudi, and LT.
