I changed our hotel for the April trip.

I was nervous about Bally's because the reviews are less than flattering about the place. I got an offer from NYNY for two mid-week comped nights and $59 weekends. So we'll be there Sat-Sun-Mon for about 60 bucks. I get restaurant discounts and $25 free-play too. I'm hoping to get some other meals comped too.

Come on April. I can't wait to go back and shoot craps.

black jack is fun and can be an easy way to walk out of the casino with a few bucks in your hand as long as the other people at your table know how to play. 

roulette is fun too.  more fun than craps imo because the "dealers" can aim the ball and some of them fall into predictable patterns as to what section of the wheel they'll be throwing for.

I'm going to play this trip. But I won't sit down at any table and play a game until I know the game well enough. I wasn't comfortable the last few times with blackjack yet.

find a table with one or 2 people who obviously know how to play and sit.  black jack players aren't competing against each other so they'll be more than happy to give you advice.  especially if you're going to do something stupid like hit on 14 and the dealer is showing a 5.

Sometimes even experienced players do things (on a hunch) that would otherwise not be done. I'm amused when the next guy then gets all pissy about not getting "his" card, or something like that.

You add your cards until you get close to 21. Glad I could help.

Sit at a $5 table and play how you want, ignore the curmudgeons that cry about you getting their card etc...

no better game in the casino than craps, and once you get over just playing the pass line and the numbers up top the shtein gets really exciting

not to mention you wont find any other spot in the casino where people are literally gathered around by the dozens cheering and going crazy at a hot table...and if you have the dice in your hands when its happening....forget about it
