My only problem with Mage is close in attacks. Like when my guy dies I find myself running from the enemy because my melee attacks aren't strong enough. From a distance they kick ass. I'm still learning the ropes. For instance, my warrior has all these attacks he can do, but then you hit RT and another set of attacks show up...I'm not entirely sure what most of them do.

My guy is starting to glow red, does that mean he's evil? I've been doing the good path the first time through.

I don't think they do the good/evil glow thing. Check to see if your character or one of the henchmen has an aura turned on. Thanks to playing it on a PC, I've got mods to disable most of the spell effects crap.

What are your guys thoughts on The Fade portion of the game? I personally thought it was the most tedious part of the game and the only part I really didn't like. I didn't hate it, but it definitely was tiresome IMO.

I thought the Mage had the best back story though.

I know they came out with new DLC for it recently, but I didn't get it and I'm not sure I will. I hate paying 15 bucks for something I'll finish in an hour.

Did it once on my first play through. Then I found this

I thought the fade stage was interesting, but too long. the shape changing back and forth so you can get through a maze got a bit annoying but the permanent stat increases were cool.

I saved the brat in the Redlcliffe castle and the vault was opened, but I couldn't carry anything because my inventory was full. So I decided to leave and sell a bunch of crap then come back and collect the goods. The blacksmith was crying so he wouldn't do business with me, so I went to the Brezillian forest to sell my crap instead. I get back and the vault is locked again. Son of a bitch.

Even in a video game thread, this discussion is making me uncomfortable with it's nerdativity.

I just clicked on this link for the first time in weeks and read the last few pages. I was about to post this:

"This thread makes me sad for all of you."
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

At least we're not looking for a new hobby.

that's the biggest problem with the game, imo.  It's generally very good about keeping track of all the quests, but because it allows you so much control over what you do in what order, some of the game logic seems to shtein itself.  I couldn't learn dual weild specialtly from the pirate chick in the Onion because somehow I scared her off, and she never came back.  The specialty is not available elsewhere, as far as I know.  Similarly (and also in Denerim), I took the quest to rid all the scallywags from the neighborhoods, but couldn't finish the quest because Dirty Back Alley didn't appear on my map until the Landsmeet, by which point there were no more thugs to kill.  The open quest sits in my journal.

Crap like that seems to be the norm for people, but hasn't stopped many people from playing it a lot.

I haven't finished the Landsmeet and I've lost interest.  I'm on Vaklyria Chronicles now, and probably won't look back.  I got further on it than I did on Fallout3 or Oblivion, but I hit the same kind of point with it where it seems like more of a chore to load it and figure out where I was and what I need to do, and do I need to make potions, and is my inventory full, and, and....nerds rule

Save your stat increase tomes, because you can dupe them with a bug. You can probably find it on the wikia page. If you are into that kind of thing. Some like to just play the game straight up.

I got Halo Reach today and am digging the campaign so far. Have not played online yet.
