The Xbox 360 controller is the best controller ever. It is a joke that the PS3 didn't change their outdated and uncomfortable design with parallel analog sticks.

Gears of War was very overrated. Amazing graphics, and it was very fun at first, but got repetitive after a while. There aren't that many guns, not that many enemies, and very short. Still a very good game, but isn't 9.5's or 10's like everyone is giving it. RE4 IMO was a FAR superior 3rd person shooter/adventure game in almost every aspect except graphics.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.

i got some extra money laying around from Xmas and I'm thinking of getting another game.  any suggestions?  what's RE4?

Resident Evil 4. It is one of the best games I've ever played, but I only brought it up because it was a 3rd person shooter/adventure game like Gears of War. Just a little more adventure oriented than GoW. It is only for Gamecube though.

It depends on your tastes. If you like first person shooters then for the 360 -  F.E.A.R. is a very good game , if you like spy/stealth action games then Splinter Cell: Double Agent for 360 is a great game, Rainbow Six: Vegas is pretty damn good as well as a shooter.

I don't know what genres you like.

If you like mindless killing and action then you'll love Gears of War though.

my first preference is sports, so I'm thinking NHL 07, or a basketball game, but i am usually disappointed with them.  Rainbow Six:  Vegas had peaked my interest.

I've heard NBA 2k7 is good but then again you'd be probably using the 76ers.

NHL07 is a fun game Sunmo.  The only thing is there isnt a turbo anymore, you shoot using the right stick and can deke useing the right stick.  Its very goofy at first but once you get the hang of it, Its alot of fun.  Plus your not winning 12 - 2 games are a lot closer.

I don't know if you've ever played a Splinter Cell game, but they are so great. Splinter Cell: Double Agent was a great game. I'd really suggest giving that a try, unless you've played the other ones before and didn't like them. If you want a hockey game, here is how I break them down. I personally bought NHL 07 because I owned 2k6 and from everything I read 2k7 upgraded a lot graphically, but it pretty much stayed the same gameplay-wise. If you never played NHl 2k6, then I'd probably suggest 2k7.

NHL 07 is a very good game too, and the highlight stick is extremely fun, but most of the fun is in shootouts. During games, especially when you turn the difficulty up, you can't really use it the ways you want. The puck will get poke checked away rather easily and you will ultimately find yourself relying on the same 3 or 4 dekes to get goals, and not being able to use the highlight stick to it's fullest. On shootouts and breakaways during games it is very fun, but those don't happen all the time. You can just do shootouts under game modes if you want though, but no one wants to spend 60 on a game just for that.

Download video reviews from gamespot or ign if you really want an NHL game and decide for yourself what looks better. I'd probably say NHL 2k7 is overall a better game.

i just read IGN and they ranked NHL 2k7 as the 2nd best sports game behind Fight Night 3.  i actually forgot about Fight Night 3 and might get that.

QuoteAfter continued reports of Xbox 360 owners experiencing hardware problems, Microsoft in September acknowledged that its original batch of systems was experiencing a higher than normal rate of failure. It also committed to repairing for free any system made before January 1, 2006 and providing refunds for "the small group of customers who have already paid for repairs."

That small group of people who have had their repair costs refunded is about to get larger, as Microsoft has now extended its standard Xbox 360 warranty in the US and Canada from the previous 90-day period to a full year from the date of purchase. While systems purchased at the Xbox 360's November 22, 2005 launch are now out of even the extended one-year warranty period, Microsoft has said those who have paid for an out-of-warranty repair that would have been covered by the extended policy will be eligible for an automatic reimbursement.

The reimbursement checks should arrive in about 10 weeks, according to Microsoft. Customers can find more detailed customer support and warranty information at Xbox.com.

I dunno, I'm a big fan of the original SC and of Chaos Theory (thought Pandora Tomorrow blew) but this one is only okay. The graphics aren't any better than the originals and there's too much sneaking around in the open daylight. I just finished level 5 on that oil tanker and now I'm in Shanghai. Also don't like that there isn't a stealth meter and that the only measure of success or failure is a NSA/JBA trust meter. I like crawling around buildings and through air ducts and stuff better.

SunMo

started Gears of War last night and I really like it.  the weapons are a bit limited, but the graphics and gameplay are great.  this is probably the perfect shooter for me, i don't do well with a ton of stealth and sneaking around, so Splinter Cell probably isn't for me.  i am still leaning towards Rainbow Six: Vegas as my next purchase.

The First Rainbow Six for X-Box is badass. Multiplayer is fun also. No map, so you gotta stay peeled to the screen and watch your back or your toast. Las Vegas looks good.

Gears of war is fun...especially with co-op with a friend. Constant shooting is my type of game...farg hiding.

Played Rainbow Six vegas...its cool too...gears of war was just more intense...but Vegas is definitely recommended...but its probably better playing 1-player mode and switching controllers with a friend when you die...the co-op play is ok but you have to choose which map you play, it doesn't let you go through the game together. Kind of sucks...the Conflict series are still the best in my opinion.

I said watch the game and you will see my spirit manifest.-ILLEAGLE 02/04/05

I picked up a handful of PS2 games.... Bully, Scarface, Midnight Club 3, Okami, Resident Evil 4.   Should waste some good time.
