yo how in depth is scouting draft picks compared to madden?  i wonder if you can load in a draft class like madden.  certainly makes the draft more interessting when you know the players in the draft instead of fake ones.

It is a little more in depth, but not much more.

Don't buy NFL HC it sucks, wait for Madden and NCAA to come out, I am already going to use HC as trade in for NCAA that comes out within the next month.

I wouldn't even rent it, to me it was a game with a lot of potential but they really dropped the ball.  It seems like they rushed to get this game out on the market.  The graphics pretty much suck.

I don't really understand why the graphics are a big concern for a game like this...

but anyway, for which platform did you buy it?  PS2?

Diomedes

I don't understand the fixation with graphics.  Developers spend a lot of time and resources on making games that look great, but end up playing like shtein.  Sure, the explosion animations are nice the first 20 times, but after that, they're just the same explosions.  I'd rather they make the game play well and worry about graphics as a secondary concern.

It's a trade off.  You want great graphics, you have to put money and time behind it..resources that won't go into gameplay, or menu controls, or audio, etc.

I'm deep into Gladius for XBox right now.  General comments on the game aside, it's got shtein for graphics by comparison to many other titles, but I really enjoy the game play.  I've logged damn near 60 hours on it and I'm just past half way.

PS2, I understand what you are saying about graphics but I expected a little more than what they are.  Overall the game is very disappointing.

I'll still like it probably.  Like I said, I don't think it's a game worth buying for PS2, but since I can play the occasional PC game during my work day, it could be an excellent time-waster.

Zanshin

Yeah, since it isn't graphic intensive, I might give the PC version a shot for my Laptop.  You know, play it while I pretend to spend quality time with the wife.  FF...let me know how it is on PC, if you wouldn't mind.

Yep.  Should at least have a general idea by mid-week.  Depends on what time it's delivered today.

Diomedes

I like the idea of HC...looking forward to hearing more detailed commentary than "it sucks."

:-D, I really like the concept too, it just seems as to me that the game was rushed to be put together.  I really don't like the fact the rosters aren't updated they should have it so that you are starting training camp with current rosters.  The plays are basically the same as they are in Madden, your coordinators often give you crappy advice.  In the preseason there is a ridiculous amount of turnovers.  It to me just was not up to the typical EA standard.  The game has potential and hopefully a year or two from now they will perfect it.

I just think the first installment is rather week.  It is not much different from Madden other than you don't play the games and the graphics aren't that good.  The game situations are pretty cool because it is like being a coach as far as having to watch the plays and getting pissed off and whatnot.

What kind of stats does the average game produce?  Does HC produce game/player stats that correspond to a realistic NFL result, or to a Madden result?

The stat lines were good with the rushing stats but the passing was awful, not even close to reality.
