Let me know about Devil May Cry 3.  The difficulty level is supposed to be insane.  They took the Japanese version of the hard difficulty mode and made it the normal difficulty mode in the US version.

that's their way of getting us back for that whole bomb thing.

My Ps2 has stopped playing CDs with the darker tint on them. Don't know why. Anyone ever run a DVD cleaner CD on their PS2?

Do you get disc read errors?

If so it's a lens problem. The original PS2 models, meaning the non-slim ones, tend to have dust build-up inside the console. Sometimes the lens just goes and stops reading certain disc formats. After all it is an electronic and nothing lasts forever.

There used to be a toll-free number to call to get your console repaired for free, you just pay the shipping costs, but I don't know if Sony still does it. I can find out for you, but if not your best bet is to get the new slim model PS2's. They are $150 new and refurbished probably around $120.

Also you can dry blowing a can of compressed air into the front vents. It worked for some people but for others I've heard that made their PS2 worse. It actually made my worse so I can attest to that.

I played DM3 saturday night and it starts off pretty insane and you have a boss to fight after you clear this room.  The boss was hard. Couldn't beat it.  I was drunk, so maybe that had something to do with it.

Played Tiger Woods 06-very cool game
FIFA Street - comparable to the other Street titles.  Pretty cool.

Well this certainly disproves the "Once you go black, you never go back" theory.

Yeah I figured it was a lens problem because it only has a problem with CDs that have a darker tint to them on the read side. Crazy Taxi and NHL 2002 are tinted for some reason. I tried a DVD cleaner CD but it wasn't enough so I'm going to go the canned air route.

I found out for you that Sony no longer repairs disc read error units for free anymore.

So if the compressed air no longer works then I guess you have to pay for repair or a new unit. Of course I'd just but a new unit from a best buy or something and trade in your broken PS2 to an EB for store credit.

You'll probably get like $70 or so for it so you'll only really be paying $80 for a new slim console. Don't quote me on the $70 store credit though. EB can be pricks with their trade-in values.

Take the console to Sony's closest office and hurl it at a window.  bastiches should back their product up, or suffer the consequences.

I'm afraid it's true.  Don't worry though.  The whole "Once you go Mexican you'll never want sex again" theory is still firmly intact.

Finally tried Arena Football on xbox live tonight since I have off from work. After a nice 1 play, 38 yard drive and a goal line stand the little bitch I was playing against quit. There was a whole 16 people playing, so I'm not getting my hopes up for a full game anytime soon.

GF,

Have you played AFL since?  My son got it last week for PS2.  After a couple of days he appears bored with it.  Cool thing is he created a QB for the Soul named "Vince Young" - how original.  Guy is like 6-5 270.  He does that with NCAA and creates these freaks of nature at QB, RB, WR - it's hilarious.

Just bought FIFA 06 and we love it.  It's hard to score a goal so when you do you start celebrating and running around the room.

I'm into the playoffs on my first season now. Even with the difficulty notched up I'm blowing out teams. The be-the-receiver option is ridiculously easy, especially if you dive into the free agent pool. It's really too easy to grab all the top ALF talent without hitting the salary cap.

I created a monster player at FB/JLB. He's the most useless player on the field. Can't leave the box on defense, can't go out for a pass on offense. Can't run, I'm averaging 5 rushing yards a game. Most of my carries are for a loss.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Fight Night, Round 3. Rented it, really havn't gotten to play it much, but the controls are insane, might be alittle to complex for me to keep my attention.  i can def see this game leading to hands cramps and blisters.

Finished Prince of Persia Two Thrones. Wasn't bad but was probably the worst of the 3. Warrior Within was the best. Judging from the ending this should be the last one.

Fight Night  and Fight Night Round Two were awesome games.  The control system was a challenge at first, but I stuck with it and really grew to like it.  One of the best uses of the joysticks I've ever used in a game.  Once you get it, you can really move the dude on the screen like a real boxer.  Well, a lot more like one than any other boxing game I ever played.  I won't buy Round 3 until I can get it used AND less than $25, because that's my rule on console games.  But I'm itching to play it.
