I played Shadowrun as a table top RPG when I was a kid.  Interminable battles, but I really liked the game a lot.  Even the battle system, except for how long they took.

From what I've seen they're looking to have runs last about fifteen to twenty minutes. That's the nice thing about using computers for all them dice rolls. Here's what it looks like.

I've been thinking of investing in a sega genesis so I can play Centurion of Rome by EA. I remember liking that game back not long ago.

I just can't tell you how much I'm anticipating this big stupid game.

Microsoft is showing off their new XBOX today, which they're calling XBOX ONE because they're great at numbering things. It is gigantic again.

Supposedly you have to download the disc to your HDD. Then it becomes obsolete. You can transfer it online at a cost. What a bunch of idiots. That's going to come back to bite them in the ass. If this is true I'm out.

Games that aren't able to be resold have been the norm for years on PC, but the tradeoff is mods and better looking games. And no zesty motion controls, I guess.

I watched part of the hour long intro. The system is pretty bad ass, motion and voice controls and you can switch to cable in the middle of playing a game. The thing is huge but I never understood why people gave a shtein about the size of the system. E3 should be interesting.

Day 1 of E3 is over, and Sony unveiled their slanted PS4. No always on connection, no daily checking in, no mandatory camera watching you, indie games can get on it without signing an exclusivity deal, and here's their video to explain what to do about used games.

I'm an xbox guy, but my god they're screwing the pooch on this.  They've essentially become Sony going into PS3.  Playstation is MS.  Nintendo still sucks.

Yep. Exactly what I thought about it. It's like Microsoft wants to lose the marketshare they gained the last go round. It's like the top dog at the time has to fail by hubris.

I'm still just going to play PC games, so I don't care which console is better. All I really care about is that they're both using straight up PC hardware so maybe there won't be so many console games hastily ported to PC that are unplayable garbage.

I'm playing the games less and less, so I'm not going to jump on either system right away. I'll see which way the wind is blowing after a bit to make sure that I'll be able to play with some friends online, then I'll make the call. My kid is a consideration now, too...but I'll take the same approach for him. He can slum it with his 360 for awhile.

Same boat here.  I really just don't play as much as I did in the past.  A lot of that is tied to moving into the boonies, and not having high speed internet.  Comcast is doing the final 1/4 mile run to connect their fiber.  Hoping in the next month i'm up and running.

I have no farging time to play anymore, but I've always been a Sony guy and I'm happy to see they are doing this right.
