Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Halo 3 are still solid online options, and both are cheap at this point. For some reason I couldn't get into Ghost Recon or Gears of War.

Call of Duty 4 was game of the year and highly recommended. Amazing graphics (unlike L4D) and best online play around. Call of Duty 5 World at War is based off WW2, where COD4 is modern warfare, with modern weapons. But if you want the zombie thing too, then its COD5. L4D I played the demo and it was def. cool ass game, but its more of a arcade style feel that a realistic one. I'm sure I would love it, but to me its not too realistic when you can kill zombies far away with a shotgun or handgun. COD5 is realistic where the guns act like they would in real life, shotty is more effective close than far, etc...the zombies are zombies, they are not some zombie hybrid that can grab you from far away with a tongue or whatever. Not taking away from L4D, but if you want a more realistic zombie mode, then COD5 is your game. The only thing with COD5 is there are only 2 maps for zombies and L4D is all about zombies. I'd rent them both before buying to try them out. Oh yeah you have to pay for extra maps in COD5 not sure about L4D.

Dude, you played the DEMO of L4D. You can't kill shtein with a shotgun unless you are close, and as for the handgun, if you crouch and aim correctly, you can hit a zomb at distance. JUST LIKE IN REAL LIFE!


Take you own advice and go rent it. I have both, and there isn't a graphics drop off between COD5 and L4D.

Also, COD4 is a tactical shooter (Infinity Ward), whereas COD5 isn't (Activision = ghey)

Okay ok, don't get your undies in a ruffle. I want to buy L4D I already know its worth it. Graphics are not even close though come on

COD4 AND COD5 are the same engine, same controls, same everything. Infinity Ward took off a year and now are doing COD6, another Modern Warfare. There is no difference they used the same graphics/motion engines. I like 4 better than 5, but there is no difference other than diff. weapons perks, etc..

whats so tactical about COD4? tactical to me is Rainbox 6 series or ghost recon series. COD's more like Halo, arcade style shooter. there is nothing tactical about it. cod4 and cod5 are the same game dude.
