I'm hoping that starting my Masters degree will take away any semblance of free time.  By the time I'm done, I'll have outgrown the bug or some really cool system to end all systems will be out.

Ahh.  I earned my masters while working full time.  That SUCKED.  And that was before I had a kid.  Good luck to you, sir.

bad reviews up for madden. not too many great improvements. almost no changes to franchise modes. progression not fixed, i am sure you can't customize players to formations. one review said the new online leagues are a huge let down as well....ugh when will EA get its shtein together for the next-gen systems? hell i might have to break out the ps2 and buy the new 09 for that. regardless i am going to rent it for 360 and see for myself...

When it comes to your nfl gaming, EA is literally the only game in town. They don't have to fix anything for the foreseeable future.

Yep... welcome to every single year until the Madden contract runs out, which is like 2015 now or something?

They have no competition so they have no reason to improve anything. Every year they will tinker and tinker and make minor changes to practically the same product and millions will run to stores and spend $60 on a new copy each year.

They still haven't added create a school in NCAA by the way. Maybe they'll get to it in NCAA 2025. One step at a time for EA. Next year's new awesome addition will be adding dripping sweat to player animations! Woooooo!

The kid isn't really a problem.  Raising children is a woman's job anyway.  My job is to make money, drink beer, and eventually play video games.

But seriously, the next few years should be fun for the whole family.


Anyway, it sounds like I'm glad I didn't buy this waste of space.  I'll dust off the PS2 and go buy Madden '07 for $5 or some shtein.

Here's a pretty balanced Madden review, and pretty consistent with what I've been hearing.  For what it's worth, I've also been hearing good things about NFL Head Coach.

is there some better about the ps2 version than 360 or ps3? i still have ps2, so im gonna get it, just wanna know if my expectations should be up or if its just madden 2008 with 1 slight improvement and updates rosters.

from what ive read on the INTERNETS is that the ps2 version still has a solid franchise mode. a lot of die hard franchise people hate the next gen. versions because it lacks good progression, custom formations, free agent pool gets screwed up, if you edit a player in anyway...even uniform change, he will not progress...just really dumb stuff that make franchise frustrating and not even worth it. while your graphics and prob some animations won't be the same...you will still have a solid franchise mode to play in if you are into that.

i just rented it...might get a game in this afternoon
