The only movies I can think of him in are pretty awesome.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Michelle Williams became famous first on Dawson's Creek.  Then she did Halloween sequel 37 with a geriatric Jamie Lee Curtis.

Let's not pretend she's Meryl Streep here.

ice grillin you

Michelle Williams is not a good actor shes a great one....one of the best of this century

She's no Katie Holmes.

dont look up - good parody but an average movie at best. thats really the problem here...mckay wanted to make a point and he did, but he did it in what ultimately is nothing remarkable. meryl streep looked hot. jonah hill was funny. mark rylance creeped me the farg out. 2.5/5

licorice pizza - i was not in love with the ending though some people have theories that enough time passed that it no longer became...uhhh criminal. im willing to bend with that. its like 12 different movies in one, youre just hanging out in encino with these young people in the 70s going from thing to thing. everything works except for the sean penn bit which shouldve been cut. i think we have a top 5 PTAer here. 4/5

the power of the dog - painfully and i mean painfully slow and boring. well shot and bla bla bla but oh my god its impossible to get through this. 1/5
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

proud of you buddy.

power of the dog  - seems like the type of film that will win awards so movie nerds can band together and pretend they have good taste that the common folk don't understand.

MDS

the ending was cool in a way but it was miserable getting there...like 2 hours of just utter depressing dull boredom to get to something thats kinda interesting.

is it that hard to make a movie fun and entertaining. like these are not pieces of art that should be torturous to get through. its a farging movie...entertain me

Watched Last Duel this weekend.  I liked it more than I expected.  Comer is very good.

Caught this on hbomax tonight with zero knowledge of the story. First 10 minutes was having trouble getting past Damon/Driver/Affleck in those roles but they really grow into their parts. 2 1/2 hours but it goes by fast. Good film.

Eternals.  Meh.  Kinda cool but mostly meh.

the tragedy of macbeth - if you are an uber film nerd who geeks out on cinematography and production design or an uber bill shakespeare nerd you might dig it, otherwise....oh man. utterly unwatchable. it looks cool as shtein but oh man. impossibly boring. i dont know who this movie is for other than those two groups. a regular ass dude just lookin for something fun to watch aint gone find it here. 1/5 because of how damn good it looks.

coda - pretty standard story but told through the prism of a deaf family with one hearing girl who can also really sing. doesnt reinvent any story wheels but its exceptionally well done and a purebred uplifting tearjerker. some great performances from the deaf actors, particularly the father. marlee matlin would still get it. 4/5

watched Air Force one yesterday.  don't think I had ever seen it before.  fun brainless movie but oh man the special effects did not hold up well.

started going through some 90s classics since I was not really watching movies that decade.

hunt for red October - I imagine this is old film lore, but I found it hilarious that they just switched the whole movie to English speaking, even though everyone was Russian.  Like 7-8 minutes into it all of a sudden. I just assumed Connery was a British spy until my wife told me no they just speak English because Americans are too dumb to read subtitles.  I found this farging wild.  solid movie though.

patriot games.  I guess this is the sequel to HFRO but they just switch the jack Ryan character from Alec Baldwin to Harrison ford.  lol.  ned stark was good as the terrorist.

going to finish off the trilogy with clear and present danger today and see what other nonsense they did in these films.

Rome

Matt... they were still speaking Russian.  You were just really farging high, bro.
