Im looking for good ideas for playoff contests.  Right now we have a Playoff suicide league which we will be doing again this year.  If anyone has another idea please let em be heard!

A normal fantasy football league....would have to keep track of scores ourselves, but get 10-15 people and draft like you do in the regular season. Except, you have to draft according to how far you think the team will go.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

How about a who scores first (kicker, WR, QB, RB, D) per team/game. I guess its kind of like a suicide...but you don't get eliminated...you get points per correct guess per game...and you do it per half? Someone please stop me...I'm just talking out of my ass.

That's kind of like what we do in another league I play in.  We hold 1 draft, no free agent pickups or anything and you continue on as long as you've got players who are still alive.  Once an NFL team is eliminated all the players you have on that team are done as well and there's no replacing them unless you've already got the depth on your roster to do so.

Obviously we could do Playoff Pick 'em as well or a suicide league.  And I think that trapped somewhere in Bionic's incoherant rambling there may actually be a good idea.

Yea there would be normal FA pickups, waivers, etc....would be fun but need someone to set it all up and keep track

Set up a league on here, each person gets to pick any player they want to set up a team consisting of whatever we set such as, QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, K, DEF.  The catch is, you can only pick ONE player from each team.  So you can't have Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison.

Have those teams sent to someone by a deadline, so no one knows who everyone else is picking (yes this means we could have teams with some of the same players, and maybe even a couple teams with exactly the same players, but that can be dealt with**).

The team that scores the most total points by the end of the SB wins.  Some people might think, "Well that sucks because then people will all pick players from the good teams."  You can only pick one player from each team, also if you pick all players from the good teams then you are assed out in the first round, because this would be about total points and you would get NO points for picking players on teams with a bye in the first round.  So it would be good to pick a mix of first round bye type teams and wild card weekend teams.

So let's say one person had Peyton Manning, well once the Colts lose, then they get no more points for Mr. Manning from there on out.  You cannot replace that player with another QB.  That team would still get the Manning points towards their total, but obviously since Manning wouldn't be playing anymore games, they would get no MORE points.

In a sense, it is a combo of fantasy football, and some sort of elimination FF game.  Didn't we do something like this last season?

**If we had any teams with the exact same rosters from top to bottom, then those teams would then be required to pick one or two players of any position or any team that would not count for their team, but would be used as a tie breaker IF AND ONLY IF those two teams won the entire fantasy playoff competition.  So although those extra players wouldn't help them vs. any other teams, they would know those extra player(s) would help in case they tied for the win with the other team that has the same players.
Something to that extent should any teams be exactly the same.  If the teams are all the same with exception to one player, then all this is unnecessary.

I'm fine with that.  I'll let everyone know the deadline, which will obviously be a few days after week 17.

Until then we can all figure out the exact rules, unless you want me to just finalize them myself.

MURP

yeah just figure out your rules and then post em and we can take a look and see if anything is out of whack or if its all good.

RomeyRome

Ok....... Done!  Whew that was hard work but I am finished. :D

MURP

NB, if you are going to run this lets get it started.

NonedumBa is all talk, no action.  He ain't gonna organize and adminstrate this thing, everyone knows that.  He did afterall volunteer to run the AFC side of the CFFFL league, only to bail once he realized that it had legs.  Same story here, no doubt.
