i won't say that i haven't ever downloaded music from shareware sites, but at the same time i won't even attempt to make an argument that i'm not stealing. is it wrong? yep. do i do it anyway? yep. and if i get caught then i'll do everything i can to settle out of court for a minimum penalty.

the amount of money that musicians lose on pirated music is rediculous. and now that you can purchase songs individually for .99 or less, there's really no need to download from shareware sites. the only time i do anymore is if the song i'm looking for isn't available yet on itunes, which doesn't happen very often anymore.

i really don't understand why so any people have a hard time grasping the concept about this one. they think that just because singers/bands make millions of dollars from record sales that it's ok for them to download an album for free. like it's some sort of entitlement or something. it's not. it's stealing, plain and simple.

the singers dont make much on the records, they make all their money from shows and appearances/advertising shtein.

true......concerts are probably their primary source of income. the record companies definitely lose more on pirating than the performers themselves do, and while it's very easy for me and everyone else to say "farg the record companies, they ruined the industry in the first place.", it still doesn't change the fact that it's stealing.

and with this particular story, they gave the woman and easy out and she refused. so farg her. i hope they take her kids as payment and turn them into a horrible teenie bopper band.

you agree that the RIAA is asking an astronomical amount of money right? Its why no one gives a shtein about them. Plus i read a while back that the Obama Admin will not have any part of the cases, where Bush's admin was on the take from the RIAA.

what they're asking now, like 2 mil.....very retarded. but they offered to settle with this chick for like 3 grand which is probably a very reasonable amount to ask for when it comes to copyright law. and i'm sure that if she really wanted to, she probably could have negotiated even lower. but she refused their offer thinking that she was in the right when she clearly wasn't. so farg her.

There are too many sites to get music cheap, 70 cents a song or 7-10 bucks a cd. Farg gummin' my pc up with those file sharing sites. Tried it, didn't like it.

Finally got around to converting some of my old hip hop shtein from albums to mp3's. Had NWA's Express Yourself on a while ago. My daughter came downstairs and said, what is that - that's awesome, Dad.

I started playing Beastie Boys, Grandmaster Flash, and P.E. after that and she sat there with her eyes bulging out of her head. She'd never heard any of it before.
