Ok i see, it's b/c of the Yahoo settings, i thought you were just crazy or drunk.   :D

So if only 4 teams were to make it from each conference.....Yahoo doesn't have a week 14 & 15 playoff option?

RomeyRome

We can fix that real easy, in 10 team leagues no way should 8 teams be making the playoffs.  I mean you could send in a list, never change your team or lineups and make the playoffs that way.

We should have 4 teams make the playoffs in each league.  The first week (week 14) there are 4 teams and 2 matchups in each league, then the second week (week 15) there are 2 teams and one conference championship in each league, then in week 16 when teams in the NFL are still playing at full strength, we have the CFFFL Super Bowl on the board.

8 teams in the playoffs in a 10 team league? :o

If that's true then scratch my last post from the record :paranoid :-X

MURP

I wish they did.

The options they give are:
15/16 4 teams
16/17 4 teams
14/15/16  8 teams
15/16/17  8 teams

joneszilla

NB...that is what i was saying too, but apparently the Yahoo settings don't let 4 teams play in the playoffs in weeks 14 & 15.

MURP

I just noticed that there is actually the option of selecting NONE.   meaning no playoffs on Yahoo.   We could just take the person with the best record in the NFC/AFC after week 15 and have them matchup in a superbowl in week 16 on this board.  That is an option that sounds half decent.

We could just as easily do the playoffs on the board, we know the teams by then, we know the rules and we could do it on the board starting in week 14 as I said.  4 teams in each league make it then go from there to a week 16 Super Bowl.

Each team would post their starting team, and then score it, and if the opposing team approves of the scoring then it counts, if the opposing team has an objection then they bring it up and the commisioner going by the rules makes the call.

QuoteWow you are screwed, you might as well start making up a VERY long list.

THAWK posted:
Do you think a list of 100 would be enough?

No 100 wouldn't be enough.  I'd say you should probably make a list of about 20-30 QBs, 30 RBs, 50 WRs, 20-30 TEs, 20-30 Kickers, and if we are doing defensive players then make a list close to 100 defenders.

Then you just send that list to MURP along with a list of what positions to draft in each round, such as:

Round 1 - RB
2 - QB
3 - RB
4 - WR
5 - WR
6 - RB
7 - QB
8 - Def
9 - TE
10 - WR
11 - K
and so on. ;)

That may sound like way too much work, but it is easy.  You just go to one of a million fantasy football sites which already have lists where they rank each position, you copy & paste a list you like, maybe change a few names at the top and waalaa!  It might not be pretty but what do you expect from not being able to partake in the draft.

Except that MURP might not like that idea very much. :D

MURP

Doing it on the board is an ok idea, as long as the teams in the playoffs do their own farging scores.  I want no part of adding that shtein up.

A list of 100? If all guys send that kinda list to one person, how does he operate it? :-\

That was in my plan, each person does their own scoring, and then the opposing team reviews, and either approves or objects according to the league rules set forth from day one and they both look over the scoring according to the rules (which are black and white so you can't exactly cheat here).  THen you the commisioner step in if they can't resolve it for some reason (if you are involved in the dispute Dio the other commish can step in or some alternate party) and decide by the rules.

It should all be black and white, by the rules so there is no need to worry about cheating.  If a team makes a mistake in their scoring, and the other team approves it and later realizes they got screwed, that is their own fault and their own problem.

No one should send in a long list unless they cannot be apart of the draft.  It is a pretty significant disadvantage to just send in a list vs. doing the draft manually round by round.  So unless you have circumstances that prevent you from partaking in the draft, that shouldn't be a problem.

Of course throughout the draft people will be sending in little lists when they are going to miss one or 2 rounds, but the 100+ list is in case Thawk misses the entire or most of the full 17 round draft.

yep, -.5

i will go check and make sure it is corrected on yahoo.

Okay...minus points for incompletions is completely gay when you have receivers like Trash and Stinkston.  I don't think that should be a part of the game.
And is the deal with 3 defenses?  Do they all play at the same time?  Someone explain please!
2004 NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles!!

It's not 3 defenses but 3 defensive players.

And minuses for incomplete passes count towards your QB, just as completitions count.  For every dropped pass, there is usually a great catch to balance it out over the course of a season.

Incompletions and completions are only for the QB.  Its basically rewarding completion percentage.   So for a QB who completes 64% of his passes throughout the season gets rewarded compared to a QB who throws for 55%.
