Happy Veteran's Day

My boys are off from school today because of Veteran's day.  So earlier this week, I asked them if they knew what a veteran is.

My youngest son answered first, saying "Yeah, I know.  It's a doctor that works on animals."

After I told him he was incorrect, my older boy said (in his usual pre-teen snot-nosed tone he uses when he thinks he's smarter than his brother)  "Duhhh...    I know what it is.  It's a person that doesn't eat meat."

They both now know what a Veteran is, and what mom and dad did for a portion of their adult life.

To all my fellow veterans, Happy Veteran's Day.  Thank you for your service and commitment.*

I was wondering why it was so easy to get a seat on the train this morning.  Figured it was on account of today being Friday, and motherfargers taking three day weekends.

Now I learn it's because they're honoring America's hired killers by doing nothing.

A fine tribute.  Christ, I had chili last night, and my office is damn near uninhabitable.  My boss came down to ask me a question, poked his head, grimaced and said he'd come back later.
