84!  That's a ripe old age for a body full of acres of weed.

I expect more people saw Phil Lesh and the Dead than any other group in history.

In the summer of '89 they played JFK in Philly. Though they had moved on from their (in)famous, and game changing, 'Wall of Sound' speaker array, Phil still kept maybe a 30 foot mountain of speakers for his bass, with each stack separately dedicated to one of the 4 strings on his custom Alembic base.

Per roadie urban legend, his bass notes synched the natural frequency of the venue's concrete, and the already decrepit environs started crumbling, including large chunks of concrete, rebar and debris falling even onto the edge of the stage as they played, as well as elsewhere inside the stadium. They kept rockin on though. Dead was last show ever at JFK. Mayor Wilson Goode had JFK condemned in less than a week.

Few if any musicians can say they literally 'Brought The House Down.' And in a 100K+ seating no less. But, You did it Phil, RIP. And Feel free to blow up any other decrepit and dangerous stadiums in the name of public service with your new super powers from the other side. MetLife field might be a start. Jerry World #2

RIP President Carter.  One of the few that brought decency into politics.

Carter dying when he did is his last gift to us.  Now that farghead Trump will have US flags at half mast during his inauguration.  I'm still hoping he strokes out first.
