He's Donovan McNabb times 1,000 in the passive aggressive dept.

Plus he outright lied to the fans in Orlando, which on the surface isn't bad because farg them, but after the Shaq debacle he could have just said, yeah I want out and I'm leaving regardless.

He's my most hated athlete by far and probably ever.

Sgt PSN

I don't even really hate him because he's mostly irrelevant and the NBA is going to completely forget about him about 5 seconds after he retires.  I can vividly recall Shaq, Hakeem, Ewing, Deke and even Kareem in the latter stage of his career.  They've all got signature plays, games or even seasons that stand out in my mind.  Other than wearing a stupid farging cape in a dunk contest (where he technically didn't even dunk) I can't recall a single individual play by Howard or a stand out game or anything.  I know the guy has had some pretty spectacular performances, but I can't recall exactly what he did or who it was against.  He's like the most forgettable super star I've ever seen.

his biggest impact comes on the defensive end of the floor...and defense doesn't always jump off the screen at you...hes had huge games but like reese said he doesnt score outside of four feet....Patrick could stretch out and hit jumpers....kareem had the sky hook and sick post moves....we dont even need to talk about hakeem...shaq didn't move away from the hoop but he had moves and he straight up bullied people so he stood out (didn't hurt that he had personality for years)....howards biggest asset is his ability to run the floor at his size...but when hes hurt and/or unmotivated this attribute leaves his game...and its the one area where he does stand out...unfortunately he hasn't taken advantage of this nearly enough in his career and has instead relied on his quickness around the rim to dunk off loose balls alley ooops and follow ups

Other than Barkley Shaq was my favorite player ever.  Watching him early in his career was a fairly amazing thing to see.  He was raw as farg but he was a man among toddlers out there.   I still can't believe he was left off the 92 Dream Team in favor of Christian Latener.   Talk about a joke.

Brad Stevens to coach the Celtics.

Shocking move there.

Sgt PSN

Wow....Celtics hire Brad Stevens from Butler.

Stevens hire = Kelly hire.[/IGY]

It's a joke when you take into account their NBA careers, but at the time Laettner had cleaned up basically every 1992 NCAA award there is to give and was one of the most famous college players of all time, at the height of his fame. He also had put in a whole four years and graduated, and the slot was there to promote and represent college basketball, not people leaving for the NBA. Quite frankly it would have been odd to give that spot (essentially a bench/garbage time role anyway) to anyone else.

laettner is the greatest college basketball player of all time....theres always that

true or false you loved him in the 90s
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Rome

He was a token college player on a team filled with professional HOF's.

In other words he belonged nowhere near that team.

And greatest college player ever?  That's sarcasm right?  Say yes.

ice grillin you

name a college player in the modern era who had a better career

Your ridiculousness isn't worth arguing over.  But how about Kareem, Walton, Magic, Bird, Maravich?   Wait, not modern right?

The reason you don't see long term dominating college players is because they don't play more than a year or two if at all.

ice grillin you

again as usual you are incapable of forming any sort of beneath the surface thought when it comes to sports...you are talking about the best basketball player to ever play in college....we all know thats mike....im talking about the best college basketball player ever...thats (probably) layts

and there isn't a single semi sane person on the planet that wouldn't have him in the forefront of the conversation much less call the thought a joke or ridiculous
