I'm sure the new addition will free up lots of time.

I'm jonesing for a game.

Dark Souls 2 or Skyrim?

Difficulty level: PS3

I'm leaning towards the former, having played Bethesda games plenty before.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I won't believe it until I spend another $40 on a game that I get less than ten hours out of in the first six months I own it.

Try Dark Souls if you hate yourself and want to be punished virtually by dying over, and over, and over. Try Skyrim if you hate yourself for spending money on a game that just barely runs on a PS3, to the point where they can't get any of the DLC on there.

Try Dishonored if you like all the stabbity stabbing from Skyrim, but with more stealthing and steampunk that doesn't require you to visit caves.

edit: Jesus Christ, I can't stop playing XCOM. Send help.

So Dark Souls really is that hard, huh?

I just finished Transformers Fall of Cybertron. Decent game. Gonna trade it in for the new Assasins's Creed which takes place during the American Revolution.

Diomedes

Dishonored sounds alright, but it's a brand new game, which puts it way out of my price range.

I think Dark Souls 2 is the best option....

on a different tack, Big  Brother:  what's a reasonable price to pay for a desktop/tower rig that will run modern games?  Minimum requirements?

Dishonored might make a better rental, since FPS players have been blowing through it in 4 hours and completely ignoring stealth and exploration. Still, 4 hours is kinda short.

My three year old laptop still holds up playing new games. Since most games are built with consoles in mind, and consoles have been the same for seven years now, few games really require a super expensive PC. You could probably spend $900-$1200 for something that'll hold up to any game coming out in the next three years. Something with a new CPU, as much ram as you can afford, and a $200 video card should get you going. If you feel like being fancy, a solid state hard drive will speed up load times better than anything else for another $200.

I think I've found my game:  Disgaea 4.

Now, to find one for a reasonable price...

Also, if you're really looking to hate yourself and humanity in particular, try Spec Ops: The Line.

Hey all zero of you guys that play pc games, do you need an extra copy of DOTA 2? Valve for some reason is still trying to sell this game at $30, but they've given away about a billion copies of it now, two of them to me. I'd put it up on www.steamgifts.com but even they don't want any more copies.
