Lurie has to know they've lost the fanbase now as well. Even the people I knew who defended Reid to the death for YEARS....they can't even stand the sight of him right now (my dad included in that).

He has to do something to make the fanbase think there is hope at some point in the future.

It would probably take a television blackout before Lurie gets the message.

The man. The myth. The legend.

PhillyGirl

Did you SEE him in the last game vs. teh Patriots in that suite? I thought he was going to cry.

That's because he was looking at Robert Kraft and thinking to himself "that should have been me!"

You act like no coach has ever been fired mid-season before. It's not like he's fresh off the Super Bowl anymore, this downward spiral has been building for years.

Exactly.

You let him ride it out. Its punishment enough to make him wallow in his own shtein of watching Juan Castillo try to coach a defense.

The FO has a stigma of treating players like ish. Firing the winningest coach in franchise history mid-season would say that they don't care about coaches either. I'd love to see Reid get fired right now, but I agree with igy in that it would be a terrible move by the FO.

ice grillin you

the guy is the best coach in franchise history and will one day be on their wall of fame or whatever they call it...hes not jack del rio...saying he should be fired now is one of the dumbest things ive ever heard and im not hyperbolizing either...cant even believe im entertaining this stupidity

firing him does nothing now, the season is over and the entire staff is going to be gutted

you let them finish the season out and put it out there shortly before the week 17 game that hes done. what purpose does it serve to have marty coach the last 4 games out.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

TexasEagle

I don't care when he's fired (as long as he DOES get fired) I'm just saying it's not unheard of to dump a coach mid-season. It's not quite the end of the world some of you are making it out to be and outside of a few talking heads on tv not too many people would be shocked if it happened. Which I don't think it will because Jeffrey's a spineless wuss too.

not just that stigma but how about just not being a fleshpop to the guy....say what you want about his coaching deficiencies and there are several...but hes been unbelievable loyal to the franchise and its employees....awesome in the community...and just an all around good person...he deserves respect and to be treated right on hiw way out

to a coach of andys stature and his standing in the annals of the franchise it certainly would be...id be willing to bet its never happened in league history...at least in the modern era that anyone close to as successful as hes been has gotten fired midseason

Yep. He deserves better.

And I am not even convinced that they will fire him at all.
