QuoteGivens gets $8M bonus, chance to be No. 1 WR
By Michael Smith
ESPN.com

Wide receiver David Givens has signed with the Tennessee Titans for five years, $24 million, with an $8 million signing bonus.

His old team, the New England Patriots, and the Houston Texans also made offers. He visited Miami first but there was no offer from the Dolphins.

In the end it came down to New England (emotional ties) and Tennessee, but the Titans had the edge because they gave Givens an opportunity to be the No. 1 receiver.

That's not that expensive at all, really.  Much better player than Brandon Lloyd, for instance.

QuoteKitna agrees to four-year deal with Lions
By John Clayton
ESPN.com

Jon Kitna made the first move Tuesday for what will be a busy day for NFL quarterbacks by agreeing to a four-year deal with the Detroit Lions.

Terms of the four-year contract weren't available, Kitna visited the Jets and Lions and was under consideration by the Ravens. He sensed something was going to happen with another team over the weekend when he told the Bengals he would not be returning.

In response, the Bengals brought in Rams quarterback Jamie Martin for a visit.

Kitna's decision could heat up talks between the taterskins and the Jets for taterskins quarterback Patrick Ramsey. The taterskins want to move Ramsey on Tuesday in a trade. Detroit, the Jets and the Dolphins were the teams talking to the taterskins.
