QuoteBroncos | Shanahan wasn't a Putzier fan

Updating previous reports, ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports TE Jeb Putzier was not a favorite of Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan. The team released him prior to having to pay him a $1.5 million roster bonus.

That's damn hard to do considering this is the same guy who drafted Clarrett and is interested in TO.

No shtein.

And the Jets signed Putzier to an offer sheet last year and the Broncos matched it too.

I call bullshtein on that one.

If he didn't like him no way he matches the $12.5M contract that the Jets offered.

From Spew:

QuoteI don't have a wish list ... but I like Putzier a lot. I think you wait to see who is available when the smoke clears. Certainly, there are going to plenty of options. I think, obviously, there will be a lot of talent. The landscape is changing and the Eagles will have a lot of players to pick from.

He was asked about Mike Anderson and replied about Putzier. I know there's zero chance Andy would take a TE like Davis that early so I'd be thrilled with the addition of Putzier.

What makes you think that?  If anything, it will allow him to keep calling passing plays and stay away from the run, which you know he wants to do still.

Because I think he goes O-Line or D-Line early. I just can't see him drafting a pass catching TE that high when it's not a pressing need on this team.

According to most people everything but O-line and D-line has zero chance of being drafted in the first round.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

The far majority of Eagles fans.

Well 4 out of Andy's 6 drafts have featured either an offensive or defensive lineman (Simon, McDougle, Andrews, Patterson) so....

The BIGSTUD

Everyone knows he likes to draft on the lines, but that doesn't mean draft a RB, WR, LB, or TE is an impossibility. I think it's very likely a position that isn't on the lines will be drafted this year. More likely than not.

So, if nothing gets done at the last minute meeting, what time does the shtein hit the fan today? 4pm?
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

SunMo

they extended the deadline to terminate contracts, you have to do it by 10pm

rjs246

Dammit. I'll be playing cards and not apying attention by then.

what many "experts" think will happen is that the NFL and NFLPA will agree that they still have a chance to get the deal done and they will extend the deadline to get the CBA extended.
