you've been saying the same exact shtein for well over a decade.  One trick pony.  Don't get me wrong - I know you invest time/money into this team - have tix, etc... makes it even more head scratching... I guess the negative schtick is just your safest bet - so you can point and say "I told you so" when you can.   

For kicks and giggles - I scrolled through the 2008 season thread - you were saying the EXACT same shtein then. And I mean - the exact same shtein... just change player names. 

All I really want to know is if you ever paid that other poster - mpmcgraw - his $20 for the Phils winning the divsion that year? 

Funny side discussion in that thread was a bunch of you getting your panties all wadded up b/c Rollins went on a radio show and called Philly fans front-runners.  Damn near this entire board had then dead and burried for almost the whole season in '08... until they didn't.  The 180 on here was whiplash inducing.  Then people were tearing rotator cuffs and pulling muscles to grab somebody's flesh pop in the circle jerk.

My God - all of you who are still on this board should go back and take a stroll down memory lane in the 2008 thread. I would bet many of you would straight up cringe at some of the stuff you posted... knowing that they won the fargin WS that year.

2008 Philadelphia Phillies Season/Playoff Thread (Die Mets Die)

This guy had it right... and it's the same today. Nothing is over as of today and for any of you to say so is clownish IMO. They are in a real rough patch now.  Agreed... But over?  Eff that.  I still say they come out of this and are a legit post season team that will do some damage.  I'll be here to eat my crow if I'm wrong... but I'm not gonna give up and cry on 8/14.

They aren't as good as what you saw in may and june...and they aren't as bad as july and the opening of august. They are tied in the loss column with the division leader, and are currently 13 games over .500, granted if they were a powerhouse team, they would be 20 games over, and have a 8 to 10 game lead, but they arent. But they don't suck.

As inconsistent as the phils are...the mets are worse (and just lost Maine to injury).

I've maintained all along, they are good enough to win the division. And I think they will.

Fans in general grossly overreact during a baseball season. Even a terrible month can be recovered from.
