Remember they traded a ton to go up and get him, so if he demonstrates a shred of talent anywhere else it'll look awful for them. He must really suck.

If Purdy ends up being who they thought they were getting with Lance it all works out for them though.

I was reading some of Lance's detractors leading up to the draft and they called it. Athletic but inaccurate and the level of competition was suspect (duh). The thought was Shanahan would be able to make him due to the offense. So yeah it looks real bad for Lance that he cannot succeed there.

Who knows with Purdy. Is he some scrappy underdog who is only good bc of Shanahan? Or does he have real talent that translates to the NFL beyond SF? I see him as a system guy and will probably fall back down a bit.

Buffalo and Cincy are also spots I could see him landing as a resurrection project.

i dont think lance can be traded...who is taking that contract? so either they agree to part ways and he can either get into a better qb room (like buffalo) or try and find a place to play (tampa)...or he takes his $$ shuts up and holds a clipboard

id agree purdy is more of a system guy, hes able to hit quick reads and simple throws. an average talent that is right for that spot. i hope he tears his ucl again.

Howie...he's better than Siposs.  Not by a lot, but he's better.  And he's not Siposs, which isn't nothing just on its own.

I expect Howie to sign any available punter who is more than a marginal improvement on Siposs. There may not be anyone who meets that criteria though. Marginal improvement probably not worth a change since Siposs has the experience holding for Elliot.
