the loss doesnt really matter in the grand scheme of things...whatever you lost a dumb game it happens. nobody wins every game in this sport. theyve played .500 ball the past week, whatever.

larger context is they annihilated their bullpen which is already short (so did the marlins), dont have an off day for another week and a half and are carrying the worst everyday player in the game at the most important position. i dont know what the solution is with turner but in no way shape or form is anyone serviced by him playing right now. he looks like he should be put on suicide watch. dude needs a mental health week.

i dont think its the contract...he started out super hot, got into a horrible slump, kinda rebounded but the last month hes been an even bigger disaster on both ends of the field. a lot of it seems mental with him. like hes totally broken as a ballplayer.

i dont know what they can do without his ok but they cannot keep running him out there like this.

he cant be sent down, but he can agree to go on the restricted list or be sent to clearwater or something. similar to what manoah did. thats what he needs, an extended break off the roster to reset.

if he doesnt agree to that, then shtein. yea, thompson has to basically bench him for a few days and theyd play a man short.

the defensive metrics hate bohm and grade turner as average. just completely incorrect. bohm i think has been really good at 3B, theres not a ton of plays he doesnt make, whereas turner averages 4 errors per game. they also have turner as a 1.3 oWAR which is madness since he is one of the 10 worst everyday players in the game.

the phillies go 5-2 against the marlins and orioles and sandwich that around losing a series to the pirates. royals sweep incoming.
