Cards GM is taking a leave of absence for health reasons. Have to wonder if he's going to rehab since he's has some DUI issues.

Diomedes

Do you?  Is that what you have to wonder?

I do. Amongst other things - like what you had for dinner and if you'll see the Eagles on Sunday?

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Let's go to TeeVee Todd for instant reaction

short version is apple couldnt figure out how to price it

the nfl is trying to recreate the directv model on streaming. you pay xxx for the service, then an additional xxx for the sunday ticket product. the restrictions and higher price point make the product limited, which funnels more viewership to cbs/fox who are each shelling out over $2 billion a year for sunday games. yes, OVER $2 billion a year.

id guess google at this point. they have youtubetv going and this can bring in new subscribers. amazon's situation is a little too much like apple. im interested to see if they offer per week or per game tiers. like if you want it for just week 4 it costs xxx, if you just want this bears/vikings games its xxx. as opposed to just having a seasonal price.

I know they're all evil but please don't let Bezos get it. I already hate that they have TNF

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

looks like youtube tv is getting the ticket and very notably it appears directv will not get the commercial aspect, which had been assumed a guarantee

gonna be interesting to see how that goes. maybe they just give it out to various cable companies? i dont think any bar or book is equip to handle 15 things streaming at once

What's the price going to be ya think?

MDS

probably very similar to what it is now...around $350 i think

the question will be do they have game specific or weekly tiers

gonna go out on a limb here and say "no". nfl gonna nfl

MDS

they do place a lot of restrictions around the product to protect cbs/fox but the weekly/game tiers would be to protect the overall product

$350/w over 18 weeks is $19 per week or like $3 per game. if you price those games at around $10 or the week at around $25, everyone is winning. team specific tiers also make sense (i.e. you just get eagles games) and the 4th qtr options to buy in into an existing game for a few bucks. lord knows they need more money.
