Video game thread

Yeah the wait does suck. I got into the Walking Dead game after the entire first season came out, so I was able to binge on that, then play the 400 Days thing before having to play the waiting game with the 2nd season.

The latest Game of Thrones episode gutted me. Hate making those decisions.

Nice. I don't play much anymore. I recently picked up the Xbox One as a gift for the kid; got a good deal on it. He doesn't play much either, thankfully. But when he does, might as be on the system that his friends use.

I have the new Madden and Batman: Arkham Knight for it. Picked up Halo: Master Chief collection for less than $20, so that's on its way. For whatever it's worth Madden is a significant upgrade from what it had been on the 360. Haven't played it online, though. Just Franchise mode to this point.

I don't a whole lot. when I did I was into sports & some of the war games but I always binged on racing. couldn't get enough of need for speed or atv fury. we still have a PS3 original which is backwards compatible for PS2 and some PS1 games. my kid got into the Disney infinity games. talk about Disney milking the public.

recently got him the PS vita which is their portable unit. pretty cool. you can also connect to the PS3 for some things but haven't figured that out yet. you can play do even more on the PS4 with it. of course I got need for speed on it. pretty damn cool.

Skulls of the Shogun is a fun little turn based strategy combat game, def. worth the money.  Just starting to investigate Terraria now.

Rocket League rewards practice.  It's a goofy ass game with immediate appeal to the rank novice, but it's very deep.  You can achieve a ridiculous level of skill and still have a blast.

Terraria is fun, but requires reading through a wiki to figure it out or one or two people to play with. Playing alone gets boring fast.

i haven't heard of that game but the article said it's in beta and coming out later.  it looks like it's kind of a COD for star wars?

Decided to go with the PS4 for the lil guy (& me) ... Obvious choice given that he already has the PS Vita. Got the star wars battlefront bundle. Not bad, comes with 5 star wars games including battlefront.

Been thinking about upgrading to Xbox 1, mostly because they are making it backwards compatible for 360 games, but the list of currently compatible games only includes a couple of mine and I don't have any on the list of probable games to be made compatible in the future, and that Star Wars bundle on ps4 is most appealing.

Can ps4 play bluray?  Pretty sure I remember that it does since it's Sony. What about 3d bluray?

Def plays bluray, not sure on 3d. Little bummed PS4 isn't backwards compatible at this time but I'm keeping our PS3 so I still have a system to play the games on.
