It's nice of the NFL to allow Sweden's patchwork team come in and test their skills against a professional franchise. I'm excited to see what they can do.
Those uniforms are hideous, one more reason I'm glad I forfeited this weeks game for a future game.
It's times like this I need 2 TV's.
dawkins out. this might be a horrible game for the defense.
I may have underestimated how many points the Lions will score.
Just wait until Considine injures his uterus again. Then we'll have Quintin Mikell and JR one-foot starting. Gold. Standard.
not sure if anyone else uses sop cast but it is up and running for this game.
OMG those uniforms are awful....
Could it be possible that it could make the Lions sick?

i think dawkins is not playing solely cause of the uniforms.
The Lions are about 15 players deep at WR and 2 of the Eagles best players in the 2ndary are out. This won't even be close.
McNabb is playing without his brace today as well. Maybe he's feeling confident with it now. ???
Bunkley's off to a great start so far.
Andy Reid must be calling the plays for Detroit. 3 plays, 3 pass attempts, 0 yards.
Westbrook is so obviously the man on this team, it's ridiculous.
That's what I'm farging talking about! 25 yard TD run by West.
Westy!
Couldn't ask for a better start
It's gotta be the uniform!

McNabb looked good on that drive too. His eyes were going downfield immediately instead of watching the rush.
Well, that's a better start than we've been seeing.
Bunkley is been stellar so far.
Westbrook is... well, Westbrook.
McNabb has been better in his two passes we've seen. We'll have to save judgment on this until later.

Without a doubt. You know that. I know that. Everyone knows that. Except Reid.
Allen Rossum just ran a kickoff back 98 yards for a td for Pitt.
Where the hell did the run d come from?
Joselio Hanson just used his wang to trip Roy Williams.
Jekyll and Hyde Defense. They're either killing Kitna or getting burned.
I lost my satellite signal for about five minutes (damned Florida weather). Get it back to find the score tied.

Motherfarging stud
:-X I don't know about that. It's close.
Stupid to stick the ball out like that. Asking for trouble. It was first down, take the gain and move on.
yeah im not so sure about that one.
on the other hand nice to see the eagles run in the red zone as opposed to 3 straight pass attempts.

10.7 actually. So far, 6 carries, 64 yards, 2 tds.
I'm matched up against Chuggie in the keeper league this week and he's got Westy on his team. I've got serious conflicts of interest right now.
Ruling on the field stands. 14-7
Lets go D. They're getting pressure with a 4 man rush, I hope JJ notices that and drops more players into coverage.
We can exhale now. Sarge was right - no camera shot was going to be conclusive enough to overturn. But this is the Eagles we're talking about...

That's probably why Westbrook was sticking the ball out. It was as if he knew it would be his only shot to run it in.
Well that's nice to see.

Perhaps the leg not being so stiff makes his throwing more accurate. Maybe it's mental. Maybe it's both.
All I know is, if he makes throws like this, Philly will love him no matter how many stupid things he says about things.
Sure, but we'd love him better if he'd shut the farg up.

It very well could be. Not only physically but mentally. I've torn my acl and mentally it was a huge step when I finally took it off and got back to playing sports on it........and walked off the field afterwards.
This was one of the most impressive 15 minutes of football I've ever seen from the Eagles.
Buck with an impressive run for 24 yards.
The O-Line is playing so great they are even springing Buckhalter for big yardage?
The Eagles are running the ball well, means the Lions are going to start expecting it. Time to air it out[/Reid]
McNabb just got blasted from behind. Looks to be ok though. Beautiful pass to Curtis for the score.

For those that care, the Phils just took a 2-1 lead in the top of the 6th.
They're pinch-hitting for Hamels. He went five and gave up one run (in the first) on two hits.

McNabb - 11/12 245 yds 3td

Great pick. The whiteys are steppin' up today.
So as of now is there any doubt that the Eagles are going to the Super Bowl, and most likely winning it?
Offensively, this is the best half of football I've ever seen them play and had it not been for a rediculous playcall by Reid, the Eagles would have put up 49 on the board.

Kearse one, offsides. Gogong, none.
but kearse makes that awful face like he just broke all his bones and tore all his ligaments.
priceless face really. i dont even know why i worry when he makes that face...he does not really contribute much to the team other than being the 75th anniversary jersey model.
btw...with them both playing today, i think it was made pretty clear that Quentin Mikell is better than Considine and should be playing full time, that dude was all over the field

Todays uniforms were hideous, but I must say the cheerleaders looked quite hot. They had skimply little blue shorts on that rode up the crotch with a jersey on. Sort of dressed like a chick you banged saturday night then threw a jesey at sunday morning cause the game was on.

Yeah, and the game was great too.
Told ya.
Quote• The Eagles are dressed today as the UCLA men's baton-twirling team. The uniforms are throwbacks from the year ... actually, I'm not sure what the year is, but it was at some point in American history where cross-dressing was socially acceptable and gender roles were defined in completely different ways. I don't mean to overstate, but this is the gayest thing to happen in Philadelphia since Tom Hanks was nailing Antonio Banderas in that one movie.
Quote• Philadelphia's on the board early as Brian Westbrook goes about 25 yards for the score, prompting the Eagles to frolic and cavort joyously, something they can't do in their standard greens.
with apologies to mcnabb and curtis broderick bunkley was the best player on the field yesterday....he played possesed...dont look now but the eagles may have landed their first true stud in over three years
:-D :-D :-D
i love those uniforms now after yesterday
p.s.
bunkley and killa had a great game. so did juqua thomas.

Seriously, i've been telling people that Bunk looked great in the preseason, and even more in the first 2 games. But he was forgotten since the losses sucked so bad. That first sack set the whole tone. Killa went off and Juqua really mixes it up. Kearse is so done its not even funny.
i specifically watched bunkley on about 15 or 20 plays and on almost every one of them he got his man

Killa was nasty yesterday too but otherwise... can't argue too much.
Wonder how Abiramiri will look this time next year or 2. I sure hope he pans out to be a Thomas or better yet Killa quality.
i think McNabb has been the best so far this season, but that may just be me
abiramiri is vanilla...hes in the mold of a typical andy reid pick
i was just gonna post that if bunk and killa dont show andy that he needs to draft more athletes and less rhodes scholars i dont if anything ever will
those two are so ill...i get funny feelings in the bathing suit area thinking about them playing next to each other for the next five years

Me too. On a couple plays he "violently" shook, tossed or jolted the hell out of the lineman he was battling. Pretty amazing strength from this kid. I love it
It was probably the uniforms but I didn't even recognize Bunkley on the first play. I thought to myself, "who the farg is that" until he turned around.
He looks completely dominant out there, and yeah, it's nice to see especially after last year's misery.

his job is to blanket the TE, and so far i havent seen a TE do much other than Cooley
that's because Cooley is the only TE of substance they've played
yeah i was gonna say does detroit even have a TE?
all in all tho i have no real complaints about gocongs play
Why is Jevon Kearse on this team and Trotter is not?
Who is more expensive and where do we need more depth LB or DE?
i know kearse isnt a starting caliber player anymore and the signing was a pretty big bust but i love him on the team in a secondary role...i mean can you think of a better guy to come in and spell killa and juqua...their depth at end is farging great and shouldnt be messed with by cutting kearse....kearse however def should be coming off the bench not starting anymore
Kearse is still useful as depth, but JT should get the starting nod. He's all over the field.
Love what I'm seeing from Bunk, his play is opening Patterson up to make some big plays. Only complaint with Bunk I have is he tries to get too fancy with some of his moves.

thats fine, as long as he's taking notes of which ones are working.

I might be hit by lightning tonight...and see Hayley's Comet, but I agree with IGY.
Cole leads the NFL in sacks again. Hopefully he can actually keep it up this year for once.
Thomas has 3 right? (Far too lazy to look it up).
I know they're paying Kearse McNabb money, but the dude ain't a starting end anymore.

Not agreeing with the absolute fact that Kearse is a shell of his former self would be nearly impossible now. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are people out there, like maybe Jevon himself, that still feel he can play at an elite level... but he sucks and needs to be sold for glue.
thats not the issue...and actually kearse has been himself for six years...it was his rookie year where he was not himself
the question is should he be on the team right now because a lot of people dont think he should

if he was not being paid what he is being paid i wouldnt mind him being on the team.
actually he had a decent game and a half last season before being hurt...and with the way our D line plays where we get sacks in bunches and then dissappear for half a season i wouldnt mind if he saves his game full of sacks for later in the season when cole and j. thomas are nowhere to be found.
Wow.
QuoteCurtis and Westbrook became the second pair of teammates in NFL history to go past the 200-yard mark in total yards from scrimmage in the same game.
It was the first game in Eagles history that had a 100-yard rusher (Westbrook), a 200-yard receiver (Curtis), and a 300-yard passer (Donovan McNabb, 381 yards) in the same game.

I thought for sure Wrecks Grossman would have gotten it. Strange, cruel and unfair world we live in.
On ESPN, John Clayton just said that the reason the Eagles passed so well is because they added blockers for Donavan and ran a lot of 2 wide receiver sets. I guess we'll be seeing less of Jason Avant if that trend continues.
If Jason Avant is the difference between what the offense looked like against GB/WSH and what it looked like against DET, then Jason Avant can kiss my ass.

Someone said something about that in an article recently. I think it was on PE.com but they said Max-Jean pancaked some Lion then threw the guy over the pile. I have to see if I can find that action.
I've been looking for the one Bwest TD when he flat out drove the Detroit D-back 5 yards backwards to get into the end zone. It was chanllenged because he almost fumbled.

The record is 12 (http://www.nfl.com/history/randf/records/def/sacks)...and the eagles had 11 way back when vs aikman
I was thinking the same thing... because I remember the 11 against Aikman and I didn't remember anything about it being an NFL record.
Go back to Tecmo Bowl, QB.
But they only started recording this statistic in the 80's so...
I'm not sure what my point is.
It's the second highest sack total in club history... that's what I get for taking my information (http://www.rotowire.com/football/features/game_capsules.htm) from Rotowire. :boom
