You only beat me last year because the farging Cowboys couldn't even beat Detroit at home in the final week.
Would you like some kleenex to cry into?
No. Instead he'll concede this free league and take our money with ease in ghoulpool.
Hm, indeed.
I've never understood the concept of a salary cap league. I get that you try to get players when their cost is low but then what when they shoot up? You dump them? To do what? Make another gamble on some other low rated player? You win by having the most money?
I don't get it.
its the worst possible kind of league you can participate in...even worse than pts leagues
The fact that IGY hates it and probably can't figure it out makes me even more full of myself for how awesome I am at it.

Players you already have are locked in at the price you paid. If it goes down, you relock at the lower number. If it goes up, it stays the same as it was when you took him.
And then what?
Say I buy Reggie Brown for $4. And then his "value" goes up to $7. What have I gained? Do I have an extra $3 to spend toward upgrading a different position (let's say I want to replace my kicker?)
You don't gain extra money, no. But you do get a better player for cheap.
For instance, if you took Frank Gore early in the season, you'd have a fine fantasy player for say $8, which is a helluva lot cheaper and more productive than if you assumed Shaun Alexander would have a great season, and paid the $30 for him. That way you can have better performers at other positions.
The only reason I was in real contention last year, I started picking RBs who were playing the Eagles around week 10. I couldn't afford the starter in Indy, so I took Addai instead. I think I got 33 points from him that week.

More importantly you have a great fantasty player, on the cheap, allowing you to stock your other positions with more expensive all stars.
sounds fascinating

And what if my other positions are awful? If having paid $8 for Gore and seen his value go up to $30, do I get $30 for him if I sell him back into the pool, so I can make changes on the rest of my roster?

No but at that point you have a $30 running back for only $8 against your salary cap, leaving you $92 to populate the rest of your roster. Normally a $30 player cripples the rest of your roster, but when you get them early on the cheap, you have a huge advantage over everyone else.
Okay.
Another question....If I spend $30 on a player who shteins the bed and I decide to dump him because I need the roster spot, what value do I get for him...surely not the $30 I paid, but only his current value?
Correct.
Thanks.
Do the dollar values change up to September 6th? Right now McNabb is the most expensive QB. I know he was on the way to MVP last year, but that still seems a little strange.
Don't worry about it, you won't win anyway.

Ha! I'm a lock to win, sucker.
No dice, sister.
How does my ass taste, guys?
Like your mom's box
lol
Let the haters hate.
My standard late-season surge has begun...
I did not keep Moss but did keep Brady over the Patriots' bye week. Considering I bought him at about $18, it's a fairly large advantage I have.
I've made up 70+ points on you over the past two weeks... 90+ if you count the points I've gotten so far this week. Check your blind spots. I'm coming for you.
That would be the worst thing to happen ever. For serious.
I'm chubbing up just thinking about it.
I am the champion.
