I win week one. On my way to rebounding from last year. All shall feel my wrath!!
Except me...but I'm sure that goes without saying.
Thank god I inherited this abortion of a team. Oh well, you'll all get smashed by me anyway.

ABORTION, I SAY!
Lewis is going to suck for the first part of this year and maybe for the whole year if their O-Line plays like that much longer, Wayne is the second best receiver on his team and I'll eat my hat if he has another year like he did last year and Muhamad is a Bear. But luckily I had 7 11th round draft picks to improve my overall depth. Plllbbbt.

I see you also read Deception Point.
Nah. I already read two of Dan Brown's books and they were exactly the same. I've had my fill.
Yeah, you ought to dump those losers and start over with a fresh team.
Fat lot of good they did me. Chumps.
I suck again....
Thank you, PG for having a slightly shteintier team tham I do. I appreciate it.
PG isn't in the keeper leauge...nob.
Ha! I just assumed the Mighty Midgets were her. Well, thanks to whoever's team sucked donkey scrot slightly more than my own.

Everything about that little story is just wrong. A guy having an engagement party? Playing volleyball at said party? Playing volleyball with a midget? And chest bumping a midget? Wrong, wrong, wrong and wrong! It's all wrong.
How the hell do you play volleyball with a midget anyway? Were you on a tennis court?

Well the party was put on my his now fiance. And the midget was a cousin of hers I guess. He ended up joining our side after we had already started playing and lets just say the only time he got a swing at the ball was when it was hit directly at him. A midget does not make the best volleyball player.
I'm still not sure how the fete was performed. Some of my buddies had to turn away while I did the said chest bump since instant laughter was a definite. But hey, that's one more thing I can add to the list. And the little guy was a big Eagles/Phils fan ;D

Oh jesus. Calm down. They were in the middle of the draft and hbionic (I think) wasn't paying any attention at all and MURP gave him a ton of warnings and I volunteered to take the team on the spot and he agreed.
Referring to anyone or anything that happens on a message board as being 'cooler-than' anything is misleading.
Whatever pretty boy. Point is, farging Diomedes gets the next opening. Dig?
Hippie fight!!!!
Pretty boy. Ha.
Chuck is beating me by 20.5 points and he has 3 empty roster spots. I've still got Brady going tomorrow night, but that's still farging pathetic. Even if I win, it's like throwing bricks at blind kids. And if I lose it's like having the blind kid catch the brick and throw it right back, hitting you right in the head.
I'm looking for feedback on my trade of
QB-Palmer
WR-Lelie for
WR-Steve Smith
RB-Westbrook

I made that deal. I have 2 keeper RBs (McGahee & McAllister) so I would have had to drop Westy or one of them. I drafted SS this year and he's been a beast, but I also picked up Javon Walker (IR) for next year. I wanted to solidify my QB position for years to come. Was thinking about the future and not this year....trying to rebuild a little. It was a tough call, didn't think I would "win" it this year, so I thought it was better to put myself in a better situation for next year.
Well, good luck with that, then.

The only way you'll be in a better position next year is if every other team in the league decides to bench all their players every week.
Just wait and see and you shall learn...you all suck and I RULE.

playoff reminder. Weeks 15/16 are the playoffs in the keeper league. 4 teams make it. Keeper league playoffs are run within Yahoo itself and not on the board.
And we MUST post regular season standings and playoff results in Keeper League: Offseason when it's all done. Sorry I havent been around lately...been busy with my new job change and travelling *tear*
what, you mean you dont enjoy the annual "guess the draft order and who had what players" every offseason?

Well, we all know that I'm going to have the last pick in the first round next year......if that helps any.
Is draft order determined by regular or post season results?
we seem to ask that question every year. I never can remember. So for the sake of making a rule that we can remember lets just make it the final standings after the playoffs are over.
Quote from: MURP on December 06, 2005, 01:12:27 PM

I thought that's how it went any way. Winner get's last pick, runner up 2nd to last, etc etc. And then once the playoff teams have their draft position determined then the remaining teams get their position assigned based on regular season record/tie breakers. That's basically how the NFL does it, right?
well if thats how we were doing it then its gonna stay that way.
Well I guess so then.
Well the playoff standings work just as long as the teams in the loser's playoff don't tank it intentionally to get a better pick...
good point mikey.
Is there a "loser playoffs"? I thought that once the playoffs began, those who aren't included are done for the year and their records at that time will dictate their draft position for next year. I can't log on to Yahoo at work to see the current standings so I'll just use an example......
Regular Season Final Standings
1 Team A*
2 Team B*
3 Team C*
4 Team D*
5 Team E
6 Team F
7 Team G
8 Team H
Team A, B, C, D are playoff teams. Playoff results are
Team A = Champion
Team C = Runner Up
Team B and D = Eliminated in first round.
Going by that particular scenerio, next year's draft pick positions would go as follows:
1. Team H
2. Team G
3. Team F
4. Team E
5. Team D
6. Team B
7. Team C
8 Team A
Is that the way it's going to happen or is there a different format being used? Because unless I'm just missing something in the conversation, it seems like there's a different method being used to determine draft positions.
I think last year we went by playoff results.....but what Sarge has proposed I think is the best solution.
So when can I post my keepers and move on to next year?
Quote from: mikey418 on December 08, 2005, 12:13:31 PM

ok, the sarge draft plan works.
you can post your keepers whenever you want, but they are not due until closer to the beggining of summer.
The important thing is to note the end of regular season standings/point totals before the playoffs start. That way we know what draft order to assign to those who don't get in the playoffs but don't use their end of season totals since we do the playoffs seperate from the Yahoo schedule. Comprende? :)
As soon as the season ends, those whom suck to much to make the playoffs can post their final rosters.
You might as well just post yours now then.

Sure thing. It'll probably be later on this week. I can't get onto Yahoo at work and I've had a lot going on at home the last few days. But it'll be done by the weekend. :)
I posted the draft order for next year in the offseason thread. :)
SO when are we starting up the keeper?
Hola. Murp is out this year, and he asked if I'd take over commish duties....if we decided to keep it intact. Thing is, most of the original guys are gone or aren't around much these days. So, as a start...how many people currently with Keeper teams are interested in playing this year?
I wasn't in before, but I want in if there's a spot.
I'm in.
Damn, I didn't know kicking so much ass last year would scare everyone off. I'm in to defend my crown.
I'm in. I know I haven't been as vocal on the board lately due to being swamped at work and moving and fixing up a house...and the list goes on. I do intend to be back on at least in the evenings in about 2 weeks (after my GoLive date for the project I'm currently working on) so I say we keep the league going if the interest is there.
Well there's 4 returning from last year and Freddie wants in which makes 5. Wasn't the league only like 8 deep or something? Shouldn't be too hard to fill up any vacancies.
Because I'm stoopid, I am not sure in which thread I'm supposed to declare my in-ness. So I'll do it here too.
So that means we're up to 6...and yeah, it was an 8-person league. I'm sure we can find peoples to fill those 2 slots
Nah, we had seven...and the 8th spot will either be Troy or FF. We're set. Check the other thread.
Oops...my bad...altho i just noticed you didn't post the mighty midgets roster, forcing me to go thread hunting.
I figured you'd just want to start from scratch.
zing.
Maybe when I saw that my team was not in contention to make the playoffs, my coaching came up short and my players lost the fire in their loins and my draft position improved.
It looks like I've coasted right through Zanshin's "Tight Balls" and into the championship game next week, unless Marvin Harrison scores 50 points more than Reggie Wayne tonight.
But, will I beat Chuck or Dio in the championship game to claim my worst-to-first crown?
Well, Harrison did his best. Bulger picked the wrong week to suck it up.
Quote from: Zanshin on December 19, 2006, 01:48:29 PM

Wrong. His best would have included taking out Reggie Wayne's knees in pregame warmups.
Attaboy Fred Smoot.
Yikes. Not a good start.
21.63 points from Minny D last night. Ha.
Yeah. I guess worst-to-2nd isn't bad, but still a lot of football left to be played.
True that, but I'm happy to have put up 21 on D alone.
I'm sitting on a 22 point lead with only TO to play. FF has only Westbrook to go.

How does it suck? Westbrook can still outperform TO and the Eagles can beat Dallas without you losing.
My big mistake was playing Vick over Vince Young... and playing Reggie Wayne over... anyone.
It sucks because I hate TO and the Cowboys, and I love Westbrook and the Eagles. What I need is for the Eagles to put up tons of points by people not #36, so that Romo playing from behind has to throw a lot to Owens...
I'll take an Eagles win over winning this league. But damn. I'm rooting for an unlikely scenario.
Cheer up. I would be 33 points up right now if I played the right people.
Playing Vick over Young cost me 28 points right there. I think I've decided to keep Young as my keeper for next season. Vick can sit on it and twirl.
You can keep Young as your rookie without dumping Vick.
Wrong. I can keep Jones-Drew as my rookie without dumping Stephen Jackson or Westbrook.
Ah. Word. I'll be keeping Addai, for drafting whom I was laughed at. Who's laughing now suckas?
I feel dirty.
Bah. Nice season, Dio. I'll catch you next year.

I'm in for the keeper league next year if somebody drops out. I lost my team last year due to unfortunate circumstancses. My dad passed away on May 26, and my mom passed away on June 4. I had more important family issues going on during that time so I was AWOL on this board and online for several months.
All I ask for is 7-10 days to rejoin the keeper league if an opening exists. I love to participate in fantasy football, thank you.

Now I feel bad. I did take your team from 8th to 2nd - and would have been the champion if I played any of the right guys. You can feel free to have it back next year, and I'll be the one that takes on a reclamation project if one comes available.
I would recommend you keep the following players:
QB - Vince Young
RB - Stephen Jackson
RB - Brian Westbrook
WR - Reggie Wayne
WR - Roy Williams
TE/K/D - (whatever)
Rookie - Maurice Jones-Drew
Vick is annoying as hell. Boldin's getting very few looks with Fitzgerald back healthy.
Anyway, it's all you next year. I'll take my spot in line again.
That's awfully kind of you FF. I was almost ready to pony up my team, but nobody deserves to inherit that train wreck.
I failed as a manager of that team. They deserve better.
