In June!
Nuts!! (http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1)
Yes sir, it's about that time. :yay
Yup, saw that last night and was so excited that it was already up! Means football is on its way!
So how do we want to do the CFFFL league this year? Was last years good enough? If so, i will go ahead and get working on it.
I enjoyed it last year. I didn't enjoy how bad my team was, but I enjoyed the format.

I'm game if it's through Yahoo. Just remind me when i have to sign up.
I thought it went well having the 2 different conferences other than the fact that I lost in the championship game. :boom :boom :boom I also thought Dio did a great job as the commish for the 2nd conference.
We doing the keeper league again as well?
I want in on your little league. Time to oWn.
I wasn't in last year, but I'd like to be this year...
i was in conference II...i'm back in
but the site is blocked at the company now...so my updates will have to be evening based
I'm in.

I'll run the AFC again. But
Nonedum
Ba ain't allowed in my conference.
my only suggestion would be to run the draft through yahoo instead of on CF...i think last years draft is still going on.

Nah, I just think he's a worthless prick and I don't want to deal with his shtein. If I'm running the show, then that dickhead can go scratch. I'm not bustin' ass for his benefit.
Regarding the draft, I agree. It was too long. A shorter deadline would help, and I'll have no problem giving people Ron Dayne and Freddie Mitchell.

I'm in! Going out of town for a week but afterwards, it's a go.
I'm in again...hopefully in the NFC
I'm in.
Didn't play last year, so my keepers will be really awesome, but I'm in if there's room.
This is for the CFFFL league, which had 20 teams last year in 2 leagues.
This is not the keeper league which has no openings that I know of.
I'm in. :-*
Is someone going to make the league, or are we just goin keep saying "I'm in" until the season starts?
I already made it, im just not letting you in.
I'm used to being left out of things in real life, not on message boards. You're a big bully. :(
;D
im actually setting up the league now. I gotta talk with Dio first before we let it loose.
I can tell you right now that it's going to be a stretch to try and get everyone in who wants in. Usually It is first come first serve to those who played last year and then to everyone else. I can count 4 open spots now. JTrotterfan, Joneszilla, Satoshi, and NB and we already have more than that who want in. Maybe some who played last year cannot do it this year. If you are not dead serious about showing up to draft and participate in the league dont waste a spot. Just letting you know ahead of time. the axe will fall quickly!
What kind of draft will it be, and when will it be? My internet use will be off and on come this sunday until mid-august (counsler at overnight camp). I won't take up a spot if I'll hold up the draft or wont be able to make it. If not, then I just have to win.
well, the past 4 drafts have taken place on the board here. It takes a while and can be a pain in the ass, but it's fun for the losers (especially me) who partake in it. IMO. If people send in lists it goes much faster.
Last years NFC draft started July 29th and Ended August 9th with some minor breaks in between. ha. that is insane.
Maybe we will have a Yahoo online draft this year, I may consider it and then dismiss it just to make Wingspan go crazy.
Whether done here, online with yahoo or via carrier pigeon. I'm in. I'll send in a list if necessary. I love losing at fantasy sports. It's my favorite.
I see. Well since I'm special, count me in until I say I can't do it. I have internet use just about every day, but it won't be for that long.
In that case, how about we count you out until you say you can do it. ;)
i was active all last year.
depending on the draft. i may be away. but i will pre rank or whatever.

Even though I seriously want to play, there is about a 50% chance I'll be out of the country in Novemebr - December for about a month...
I'll sacrafice my spot for someone that can use it better than me. If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to pre-reserve a spot in the following season when I know I won't be traveling.
It's too bad -- I'm pretty OK at these things.
Yes ummm im ins. I liked how we did the draft last year. but thats really up to the commisioners, so it doesn't matter to me really.

I reckon we will keep the same conferences with returning players. It'll just be a matter of how many slots open up in each conference.
MURP has got four vacancies in the NFC, but more than four people in line to fill them. I don't know how many vacancies there will be in the AFC, but I'll go the same route: if you were in last year, you get a slot this year. If you don't respond in time, or aren't coming back, then the open slots will be up for grabs. Something like that.
We've got plenty of time to figure this crap out. Let's give people a few days time to check this thread and make their intentions known.
I don't care which conference I'm in, as long as there is an ample amount of shtein talking I'll be active.

dunno, he has been around sporatically. If he comes back full time he can have a spot, but otherwise someone who is here everyday should get it.

Would definitely be interested if there's an open spot...just please let me know.
CF Arena! :D
you can only have 7 total players though
well if we have enough players, see if anyone could come up for a system with 3 leagues... maybe 8 players per league or something like that. We would need to figure out how the playoffs would work and need another commish to run a 3rd league. any ideas?
Eh. Too much talent to go around in an 8-team league unless we bulk up the positions. Sort of makes it more of a crapshoot, I think.
good point Zanshin.

Congrats. You've finally reached Bionic's mom's uterus. That'll be $50. Thanks for playing.
So seriously? Has anyone figured out a way to get three divisions going? Do we need 3 divisions? I will set one up if needs be.
I am addicted to practically everything I do, and fantasy football definitely falls into that category so I wouldn't mind running one of the divisions as long as you jerks don't mind a sarcastic and caustic commish...
dont think the 3 leagues would work. #1. the talent pool would be too deep, #2 playoffs would be a night mare.
Im gonna fill up the NFC league now with people from last year and Phillycrew who has been on a wait list for over a year. Then Dio can fill the AFC with people from last year. There will be 3 open slots for new comers. That will then fill the 20 teams. (2 leagues, 10 teams each). NOW, if there are 4 other people who want in and seem credible that they will be around we can make 2 leagues with 12 teams in each league. There must be 24 total for that to work. If not than we are sticking wth the 2 leagues with 10 teams each. Hard to make everyone happy.
No problem, Murp. If it works out that way and you have an open slot, I'd be happy to participate. If you keep it the same as last year, understood completely. I'm in two other leagues--one in which I am commissioner--so, I hear ya, RE: not always being able to make everyone happy.
BTW - nice password....*ruff ruff*
The 3 open slots shouldnt be based on level of coolness. It's not fair to nerds like me.
But it's the best way we could come up with to keep you out of the league. :P

I never got into it too much. But I was in a couple of leagues (one Yahoo, and one pay league on the Sportsline site) last year, and I figured It's time to step up. Thanks, Dio.
Speaking of the AFC, when you gonna get the up and runnin? Season starts in less than 3 months!

last year it was NFC/AFC, 12 teams in each. Champion from each division played in week 16 for Superbowl.
12 teams was about as high as I would go, just not enough players after that. More divisions would make the playoffs even longer which isnt any fun. We need some ideas if people that many people are going to want in.
I'm running a live draft as well. Last year was farging ridiculous.

Thank the Lord for that. Last year's board draft was tedious for all, especially the ones in charge.
Whatever draft I helped run last year went as smooth as could be. You guys obviously need to tighten up.
I think one way to narrow down the field of participants is to kick all the people who don't check their team at least once a week to the curb. It's ten times more fun if you have an active league, even if your team blows more than Art blows Gibbs.

well, that doesnt help in the middle of the season.
If there is a live draft I probably won't be able to do it until after August 12 or 13. So if you want to weed me out, put the draft for sometime before that.
I'm running the draft (and the league generally) like Hitler this year. I decide who's in and who isn't, and I don't give a farg what anyone says. Last year sucked.
If you don't like it, don't play. Or start your own goddamned league.
I had that happen last year in my Yahoo league. About halfway through the season, maybe half of the participants stopped checking. It made for easy wins (I won the league), but it was pretty stupid.
I like the idea of kicking inactive people and throwing all the kicked players back into the FA pool. It's frustrating to see some decent players squandered on crappy, inactive teams.
Im playing with a couple ideas that will drastically alter the league, but make it more interesting. #1 would be to have more starting players and less bench players. Making league add/drops more important and more frequent. Also having less players overall per team which wont have us starting Reno Mahe at some point. Maybe also switching to a points only league, although that takes the battles out.

Right, but you can judge the people who sucked last year and not allow them in this year.
the key to any league is team participation from start to finish...in my main league that i do with the same guys every year i have a last place penalty...where last place pays an extra 50 bucks...that way it keeps everyone involved to the end
secondly the stats should be weighted evenly...the average good game by a qb should give a team the same points as an avg good game by a rb or wr...to many leagues give the huge advantage to the qb and sometimes the rb...ive spent a ton of time figuring it out where now we have it so that its perfectly even
thirdly you can not have to many offensive positions...imo no league should have bogus positions like wr/rb....or utl...it should be qb, rb, rb, wr, wr, wr, te, k...keep it simple stupid
lastly you have to have defensive players not teams...its doesnt have to be all 11 defensive spots altho i do that in one league and its pretty cool...in my main league we do (3) DL/LB and 3 (DB) and that works out great
2 DL, 1 LB, 2 DB's is plenty for me.
yahoo counts DL as DL and LB
i dont like the defensive players thing. but whatever.
Hey Hitler, Did i make the Hitler youth this year? Last year was pretty enteraining, espcially seeing Freddie Mitchell go in the first as punishment.
oh, oh...i wanna play too
I'm in, as always. I like the D player angle and I like the idea of a live draft.
Hitler, if there's room I would like a spot. I couldn't play last year because of my travels during the season.
Duly noted. MDS and hbionic, you pain in the ass motherfargers are out. Sus and Demon, you're in.
Maybe if one of the other AFC jokers quits, I'll let you back in.
Seig Heil!!
I'm in again.
:-D
Obviously, I'm in for the NFC.
Also, wasn't MDS a daily fixture in the AFC last year? Didn't he dominate during the regular season? Kind of F'ed up to kick him out.
This isn't a democracy. I don't have to explain myself. Lobby for him in the NFC if you're upset about it, Jesse.
If anyone needs a whipping boy who's willing to put up money, I'm in.
:-D
you son of a bitch. who made you president?

I thought you left the board.
ZING!
I would understand if you didn't want me in the league this year, considering the hurting I put on the rest of the league last year.
im in somewhere, because i'm too damn awesome for your jokers not to include me.

Yeah, live drafting is the best.

Dude, I check the board every day. I just don't have much to say during the offseason. Unlike you I don't talk more about a zesty baseball team than I do about the Eagles.
Plus, whatever league has me also has my insanely nerdy stat wrapup every Tuesday, like I did last year.
QB, you're in. No worries.
i see. again, who the hell died and named diomedes president? ill run the dumb league instead. dio you can be in because im not a fleshpop like you.
Waaah.
:-D
youre just scared. and gay.
Look dude, it's this simple: I've got the option of keeping you and Chuggie, both of whom are high maintenance pains in the ass, or adding Sus and Demon, two guys who can show up on time, follow the farging rules, and not need a commish to wipe their noses.
farging grow up, and maybe you won't lose the popularity contest.
high maintenance in a fantasy league? because i talk trash and act like an idiot? how do you have to maintenance that?
show up on time? explain when i didnt show up on time or quit the league.
again, im away for the next 2 months. if you are doing a live draft somewhere in that timeframe, then its moot. but if its later in august, then there is no reason why i shouldnt be in the league. if you want to be a douche about it, go ahead. im just confused as to why you are in control when you seem to have problems dealing with two idiots like bionic and myself.

This is hands down the bitchiest thing I've ever read on any message board ever. Step back and reevaluate, dude. Like, immediately.
Sticking up for your girlfriend, eh?
Blow me.
Ha. I love this.
This is one of the funniest things I've read in a long time.
And I'm in, so I've got that going for me.

man, everybody and their mother--yes my mom wants in too--wants to be in this league. If its possible, I would like dibs to be in as well.
Any thoughts if their are too many people in the league, to team up and throw more dollars in the pot? I know people like to fly solo in their leagues and create their own destinys, but it might be a better organized way of doing it if their are too many partcipants. Everyone in here (I think) has a good grasp on the NFL so the chances of a bad grouping will be slim
Since everyone communicates through the PC all day long anyway, it also wouldnt be hard to send someone a personal message for any kind of FA/roster moves and setting weekly lineups. Any thoughts? Smash it, bash it, trash it...whatever...its all good
MDS should be in. He's here everyday.

a losers commitment never seems to pay off :-D
I'm going to have to start CF "XFL" fantasy football for those of us too exciting and edgy to play in the main leagues.
That is, of course, assuming I don't get a spot in the main leagues. If I do, you freaks can sit on it and twirl.
The only option for getting a lot of people in on the league is to cut down on the overall roster size while maintaining starter positions. I wanted to do that anyway. I think the waiver wire should be more exciting when you are forced to make decisions rather than have a ton of guys on the bench rotting.

Good idea.
Here is the updated AFC owners list. I set up the league at Yahoo with the same parameters as last year, with a live draft date of Sat Aug 12 5:00pm EDT. Sorry it's so early..they don't have many time slots open for better dates. I tried to get something on a Friday evening closer to the end of August, but nothing was available after 3 or 4 p.m. So we'll draft Aug. 12.
I'll give the other league details once MURP and I decide what the hell kind of league we're going to have.
If you played in the AFC last year, drop me a PM to say whether you'll be back or not. Wait list is already three or four people deep. If I haven't heard from everyone by July 15th, i'll assume you're not coming back. I'll email everyone individually to remind them, if I have everyone's email address.

Hey Dio, I posted awhile back in the thread, just after Sus, and well before Demon did, that'd I'd like a spot. Any reason for getting skipped?

The reason is that in spite of the fact that he preaches about, and claims to be anti-establishment, he's actually an anal-retentive, highly regemented individual with control issues who doesn't like variation or conflict. Further, he feels an irrational need to be accepted and liked by the 'elders' on this board. You represent niether a personality that he feels the need to suck up to, nor the ability to mindlessly fall in line to his whims. Therefore, you lose out.
Count yourself lucky.

So......I
shouldn't go RB in the first two rounds? That screws my whole board up.

Utterly predictable.
So in essence, the two ff teams that CRUSHED their competition last season have been booted. What a bunch of sore losers.
lol, you didnt even win the NFC.

Details. I smashed everyone all season long. But don't worry, you can have give my spot away if you'd like. It wasn't much of a challenge dominating the season anyway.

speak English or you wont get a Cheesesteak.
So in another Keeper League I own (yes, all their souls belong to me):
D. Carr
A. Boldin
T. Glenn
Ji. Smith
S. Alexander
R. Johnson
L. Smith
Julius Jones
M. Brunell
D. Mason
M. Muhammad
T. Owens
H. Miller
A. Smith
D. Akers
De. Williams
Do. Edwards
J. Peterson
A. Pierce
I can only keep three or maybe four. I'm thinking:
Shaun Alexander
Anquoieyn Boldin
Rudi Johnson
Julius Jones
So, do I have a spot in the NFC, or do I need to create another league?
Meeeeowww...;)
The CFFFL league will be exanding this year with the total # of bench players per team shrinking greatly. I dont know the total # of open spots yet, Dio and I are figuring that out and should have something set in a day or so. Hopefully all of the people who want in can get in. Ill leave it at that for now.
OK. Well said.
this league seems like a ton of fun.

i was gonna create one but yahoo does not have a live draft available after 6pm on any day and has no weekend draft times at all
